Shell girls triumph in national athletics

Congratulations to our team of Removes and Shells girls who recently won the B final of the English Schools Athletics. 

Having achieved an incredible points total of 303, the girls now wait with bated breath to find out if they have qualified for next month’s national final.

Competing as the Junior Girls Team (Years 7 and 8) in the competition held at Ellesmere Port Sports Village, they gained points for how fast they ran and how far they threw and jumped, putting in a fantastic performance to take first place. 

Miss Jones accompanied the girls to the competition and is very proud of the result. She said:

“This is an incredible – but well-deserved – achievement for a talented and hard-working group of girls. They gave their all in each of their events and were so supportive of each other throughout the day.

“To win the national B final against a number of much larger schools is just brilliant and they should all be very proud of themselves.”
