Congratulations to Tegan Graham (SHGLA) and Elsie O’Flynn (SHGLA) who have both secured a place with the National Youth Music Theatre (NYMT).
The talented duo underwent a rigorous audition process and were delighted to receive the news last week that they had been accepted. Both girls will spend two weeks with the NYMT during the summer, working with industry professionals on a new musical.
Whilst Elsie will attend the Manchester course, Tegan will travel further afield to take part in the Exeter-based course; both courses will culminate in a public performance in a professional theatre.
Director of Drama, Clare Howdon, congratulated the girls on their achievement.
She said: “We have already been privileged enough to witness Tegan and Elsie’s talent first-hand; as some of the youngest performers on the stage, they both gave superb performances in this year’s production of West Side Story and we are looking forward to seeing them take centre-stage in our Stage Queens show in June.
“I am absolutely thrilled for them that they have been accepted into the NYMT. As one of the UK’s leading organisations for young performers, Tegan and Elsie will benefit from professional-level training and the chance to work on a high-quality production alongside experienced industry creatives. I know that they will make the most of this incredible opportunity and wish them both the best of luck!”
