Spellbound in the library

It was strictly “No Muggles Allowed” in the Senior School library today.

In celebration of Harry Potter Book Night and to mark 25 magical years of Harry Potter, Librarian Mrs Harding cast a spell over the library and transformed it into King’s very own Wizarding World.

At lunchtime, pupils entered through Platform 9 3/4 to be sorted into their Hogwarts House. In the absence of the Sorting Hat, they were sorted by Sorting Cupcakes before enjoying a variety of activities, including a Portkey Treasure Hunt, a variety quizzes and Pin the Tail on the Prophecy.

In the afternoon, some of our Junior School pupils faced their own wizarding challenges. These included a Harry Potter-themed game of Would You Rather and a magical transport treasure hunt.

Mrs Harding said: “It has been a great afternoon of Harry Potter fun. I am grateful to our Pupil Librarians who helped to prepare the library for the event; it looked amazing!

And, of course, I am grateful to everyone who came along. From Juniors to Sixth Formers, everyone has been able to leave the Muggle world behind and enjoy a bit of magic today.”
