Hockey squad crowned champions of Cheshire!

Our under 16 girls Hockey squad triumphed in the County Outdoor Hockey Final last week.

The squad trained rigorously to prepare themselves for what promised to be a difficult final against the The Grange School and The Queen’s School on April 18.

The girls got off to the perfect start as they beat Queen’s 1-0 with an impressive performance, full of attacking intent built on defensive strength. The game’s solitary goal came from Lucy Osborne (4WAL) following an end-to-end game with an array of commendable saves from Chloe Beetschen (4WAL).

The team faced The Grange School in the deciding match. The game was tightly contested with both teams approaching the initial stages with justifiable caution, but this initial wariness eased as the game progressed with opportunities presenting themselves for both teams. After some great possession work and pressure in the circle, a goal from Heather Black (4WAL)  proved the deciding factor.

The two victories ensured the girls claimed the title of Cheshire Champions!
