King’s Girls Are District Athletics Champions!

Our Third Year girls were crowned Year 9 District Athletics Champions this week, after winning the Championships with a string of 1st and 2nd place performances, across 10 events, against 9 other competing schools!

Heather Black (3RL) put in a superb performance to win the 800m and other noteable results were 2nd places for: Olivia Barnes (3AL) in the 100m, Lucy Osbourne (3HS) in the 800m,  Tilly Irvine (3AL) in the 200m and Anna Mackay (3AL) in the javelin.

In the Year 10/11 competition, our Fourth Year girls finished in a very creditable third place, with fantastic results for Ellie Saunders (4RC) who won the triple jump event and came second in the 300m! Other excellent results were 2nd places for Ailsa Black (4AR) in the 800m and Emily Haughton (4AR) in the high jump.

The athletes have all worked extremely hard to achieve these impressive results and all the squad members are to be congratulated on their commitment and determination to succeed.
