Supporting the NHS

On July 5, the NHS celebrated its 73rd birthday.

The past year has been filled with challenges for so many people, and the NHS has faced the biggest challenge of its lifetime. In a show of gratitude from the City of Chester, the Lord Mayor led a short civic ceremony to thank all NHS, social care, and key and front line workers for their continued efforts in the flight against Covid-19.

The King’s School was invited to attend, and we were proudly represented by Head of Brass, Mr Ortiz, and some of his students who provided musical accompaniment to the service.

Mr Ortiz said: “It was an honour to be invited to play a part in the ceremony, and to join others in showing our support for those who have worked so hard for the people of Chester over the last 16 months.”
