Talented students celebrate top A level results

The King’s School is celebrating a truly exceptional year of A Level results, with students achieving remarkable grades across a broad range of subjects.  

Delighted students are celebrating the best results in three years and the highest percentage of A* grades since pre-pandemic grading, marking a triumphant end to their time at King’s.  

Overall, 24% of all grades were A*, with 60% graded A/A* and an impressive 85% graded A*–B.  

These results will see them progress to some of the UK’s most competitive courses and universities.

Oxbridge success was again a highlight, with offers secured for: 

  • Sam Burchett Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at Clare College, Cambridge 
  • Alice Downey – Mathematics at St Hugh’s College, Oxford 
  • Elizabeth Melhuish-Bolton – Psychological and Behavioural Sciences at Selwyn College, Cambridge 
  • Ife Oyedeji – Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Hertford College, Oxford 
  • Victoria Szymala (2024 leaver) – Human, Social and Political Sciences at Robinson College, Cambridge 

Following a record-breaking year for medicine and veterinary science offers, Kate Edgerley, George Luff, Fabio Franco, Musa Raza and Mani Thaman all set to begin their medical studies. In addition, Lana Dawson will be studying veterinary science at the University of Bristol. 

Subject highlights include: 

  • Eight subjects celebrated more than 70% of grades at A*/A 
  • Over 80% A*/A in Economics 
  • 88% A*/A in Politics 
  • 82% A*/A in Physics* 
  • More than 50% of grades in English Literature at A* 
  • 50% of grades in Classical Civilisation and Music at A*
