Tanmay’s outstanding double achievement in physics competitions

We are incredibly proud of one of our talented Lower Sixth students who recently achieved outstanding results in two highly respected physics competitions.

Tanmay Madhusudhan (L6GRO) entered the International Physics Competition and the British Physics Olympiad Year 12 Senior Physics Challenge, and placed in the top 7% of participants in both competitions.

The International Physics Competition attracted 5,600 participants from around the world, making Tanmay’s achievement all the more remarkable. Competing against thousands of students worldwide, his performance demonstrated both depth of understanding and resilience in tackling complex problems.

Head of Physics, Dr Steve Bosworth, congratulated Tanmay on his accomplished performance in both competitions. He said: “Both competitions require advanced problem-solving skills and they attract strong competitors. We already knew that Tanmay is a talented physicist and I am delighted that his hard work, dedication and ability have been recognised.

“Competitions like these are important for students who want to study the subject at a higher level as they provide an opportunity to develop skills and knowledge beyond the curriculum.”

Unsurprisingly, Tanmay is already planning to pursue physics at university and, with aspirations to study at Oxford, he is building a strong foundation for future success.
