Tasty treats and odd socks in support of World Down Syndrome Day

An amazing show of colour today from Willow Lodge pupils who have worn odd socks to school in support of World Down Syndrome Day.

Pupils have also been buying cupcakes and biscuits in exchange for a donation.

As part of World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD), Luca Griffiths (I1WD) has also been selling cakes for a charity called Reece’s Rainbow in exchange for a donation. Reece’s Rainbow provides financial grants for families adopting children with special needs from orphanages around the world. Reece’s Rainbow has agreed to create a grant specifically for a family adopting a child with Down Syndrome from Armenia with the money raised from the cakes sold at Willow Lodge and a fundraiser taking place on WDSD.

It was a lovely breaktime for the pupils to enjoy a tasty treat in the sunshine – thank you to parents for all of your donations!
