Congratulations to Jake Harrison (L6DUT) who recently received his first international cap, playing Basketball for Wales.
Jake, who also plays at U18 level for Wrexham Warriors and Liverpool Basketball Club in the North Wales Basketball League and English National Basketball League respectively, earned his cap on a recent tour in Iceland.
Having played for Wales for five consecutive years since he was in the U14 squad, he is now in his second year in the U19 team and was delighted to be awarded his first cap.
Jake was first introduced to Basketball when he was a pupil in King’s Juniors. He took part in the annual in-school Hoops for Health programme with Cheshire Phoenix, and also played for the school team under Mr O’Neil who spotted his talent at an early age!
Although his next international match hasn’t yet been confirmed, Jake is looking forward to his future in the squad and has his fingers crossed for a quad nation tournament with England, Scotland and Ireland.
We look forward to following Jake’s continued success on the court.
