Sunny Sports Day at Willow Lodge

The sun shone on our Infants this week as they took to the fields to compete in the annual Willow Lodge Sports Day!

Our Reception pupils started proceedings in the morning as they ran, hopped, skipped and drove their way up and down the running tracks. There was an array of fun events to keep the spectating parents entertained, including relays, egg and spoon challenges, sack races and fancy dress contests. The pupils were divided into four teams; Yellow Submarines, White Planes, Black Cars and Red Buses. Following a fantastic morning full of impressive performances, the Yellow Submarines emerged victorious after accumulating the highest points tally!

It was the turn of the Infant 1 and 2 classes in the afternoon, as they competed in an array of exciting activities. Parents followed their progress around the fields as the pupils competed in hurdles, javelin, egg and spoon races, shot put, skipping and sack races. Once they had completed a full loop of the activities around the field, both the pupils and parents convened in the central running tracks as the pupils competed in both sprint and relay races.

After a fantastic afternoon of sports, Mrs Ainsworth announced the Blue Whales as the victorious team!

A huge thanks to all the parents for their fantastic support during the day. Whether it was encouraging the pupils from the side-lines or serving refreshments on the KSPA stall, all of your support was greatly appreciated.
