Wimbledon fever at the Junior School!

As the world’s most prestigious tennis tournament got underway last month, our Junior Tennis players were awarded a number of accolades for their performances in various summer tournaments.

Both Anna Macdonald (J1L) and Karina Kiss (J3H) won all of their matches against Packwood, Birchfield, Abberley Hall and King’s B at the Moreton Hall U11 Girls Tennis Tournament. The other team B players, Holly Bosworth (J3B) and Daisy Seddon (J3H), also performed fantastically and marginally finished as tournament runners up.

In the Moreton Hall U11 Boys Tennis Tournament, Francis Unett (J4S) and Sam Rooker-Roberts (J4M), formed a formidable partnership making their way to the final before narrowly missing out to Ellesmere College in a hugely entertaining encounter.

The successes continued at both the U11 AJIS Girls and Boys Plate Finals as Anna Macdonald  and Karina Kiss progressed to the final where they faced each other in a fantastic match with Anna eventually claiming the trophy.

The Boys Plate Final was also an all King’s encounter as Francis Unett and Jago Fitz Gitton (J4S) competed in a highly entertaining final with Francis running out as eventual winner.

Both the boys doubles team and the girls doubles team won all 5 matches at the U9 Chester and District Tennis tournament group stage and went on to beat Delamere in the finals to claim the trophy. The players included Grace Henderson (J2T) , Lucie Thornton (J2T), Vignesh Seshadri (J2T) and Captain Aiden Coopman (J2A).
