Young Tycoons launch creative business

Once again, some of our enterprising Sixth Form Business students have taken on the Tycoon Challenge.

Two teams of A Level entrepreneurs have been given a start-up loan and both are aiming to make as much profit as possible.

One of those teams is Mon Macramé, a team of five girls who are combining their creative flair and nose for on-trend products to make and sell macramé plant holders.

The team behind Mon Macramé is Tabitha Gardiner (L6FOX), Chloe le Ballois (L6WAL), Grace Ryan (L6LES), Ffion Richards (L6BRA) and Isabella Warrington (L6FOX).

The students took a start up loan of £80 and have worked together to draw up a business plan, done their research and have begun making their quality homemade plant holders.

Tabitha said: “Macramé plant holders are very much on trend at the moment and customers have a choice of buying their plant holder with a pot for £14.99, or without for £9.99.

“They make the perfect gift for Mother’s Day, or just as a gift to yourself to brighten up a work or living space.”

Mon Macramé are hoping to sell their product in school soon but customers can already buy through their website www.monmacrame.co.uk. More products are being added to the website this week, but you can get a glimpse of what will be on offer on the team’s Instagram.
