King’s netballers set to play for England

Congratulations to Anna MacDonald (5GRO) and Eva Hopper (L6WAL) who have been selected for the England Netball U17 squad.

Following trials held in January, the girls were thrilled to receive the news that they will travel to Aberdeen to play in the 2026 Europe Netball U17 Championships. The competition, which will be held in March, will see them take on teams from the other home nations, as well as Ireland and the United Arab Emirates.

The talented netballers are key members of the school squad, as well as playing for Kingsway Power Netball and being part of the Manchester Thunder U19 pathway. Director of Netball at The King’s School, Caitlin Jones, was not surprised at Anna and Eva’s selection.

She said: “Eva and Anna are not only talented players, they also work extremely hard. Their selection for the England squad is testament to their commitment and dedication. I wish them both a successful tournament and look forward to hearing all about it when they return to school.”

Good luck girls, we are all behind you!
