Physics Technician

Are you passionate about Physics and enjoy bringing science to life through practical work? We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Physics Technician to join our Science Faculty and play a key role in supporting high quality teaching and learning.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive and forward-thinking environment where your expertise will directly contribute to inspiring the next generation of scientists.

The successful candidate will have practical laboratory experience and ideally experience of working in a school (desirable but not essential).

As a valued member of our Physics team, you will have:

  • Strong practical and theoretical science/technical skills across Key Stage 3-5, especially in electronics and circuits
  • Be able to coordinate and ensure the safe handling of Advanced Level practical assessments and examination materials
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving abilities

This role is offered working 15 hours over 2 days per week within Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, Term time only (approx.36 weeks per year). Exact hours / work pattern can be discussed at interview.

Salary £8,815 per annum (FTE – £27,179 per annum)

The role is deemed to be in regulated activity with a moderate level of contact with children on a day to day basis

Teacher of Physics

We require a well-qualified, dynamic and creative teacher of Physics to teach to IGCSE and A level for September 2026.  This outstanding department currently teaches around 45 sixth form students and has a good track record of preparing candidates for Oxbridge and Russell Group university entrance.

ECTs, recent graduates or experienced teachers are equally welcome to apply.

The successful applicant(s) will have the following attributes:

  • a passion for Physics and excellent subject knowledge,
  • the ability to stimulate students’ curiosity, interest and enjoyment,
  • a willingness to work as part of a team, promoting the work of the department and contributing to its smooth running and development,
  • a strong commitment to the extra-curricular work of the department; we run an annual trip to CERN, Masterclass trips and speaker meetings for A Level and are looking to develop a greater variety of clubs for all ages.

The successful applicant will likely be asked to teach some Maths in the first year or two and will be expected to contribute to all other duties normally shared by members of the department, such as marking, writing reports, setting work in case of absence, attending departmental meetings and appropriate administrative tasks.

Teacher of Maths

We seek to appoint a well-qualified graduate teacher of Mathematics for September 2026. The successful applicant will have the following attributes:

  • a real passion for their subject and excellent subject knowledge,
  • the ability to inspire and encourage students in their learning and treat them as individuals,
  • an enthusiastic willingness to work collaboratively and productively as part of a team,
  • a strong commitment to the co-curricular life of the school and an appreciation of its importance in the development of young people,
  • The ability to teach up to and including A Level Mathematics; experience of teaching A Level Mathematics is desirable but not essential,
  • A willingness to teach A Level Further Mathematics is also desirable.

The person appointed will be expected to contribute to all other duties normally shared by members of the department, such as marking, writing reports, setting work in case of absence, attending departmental meetings and appropriate administrative tasks. All members of the teaching staff (with the exception of ECT’s) are expected to take on duties as a Form Tutor.

Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are particularly encouraged to apply for this role.
