Book Week 2019

During Book Week there was a variety of activities going on across the school.

Throughout the week there were crime scenes in both the Junior and Senior School libraries for students to work out who caused the murder in the library out of a potential 10 suspects and 10 weapons.

Senior School students also participated in the ‘Caught Reading’ competition where posters of teachers were displayed with their faces covered by books so students had to guess the teacher!

The first book quiz of the week was Removes’ book quiz. After a tightly contested quiz it all came down to the tie-breaker, with RmSC coming out as the overall winners.

On World Book Day both Willow Lodge and Junior School pupils were invited to come to school dressed as a character from their favourite books. We had an incredible array of costumes on show!

Willow Lodge pupils were also lucky enough to have Sara Sexton, author of Love You Too visiting. Sara read her book with pupils, taught them songs and explained her inspiration behind writing her book and why she thinks it’s so important.

Whilst our Junior School pupils had a special visit from Ben Fogle. Read more here.

To end the week the House book quiz took place. Each team was formed of a tutor from the house and a mix of senior school pupils from each house. After another tightly contested competition Dutton House were the overall winners!
