English Schools Athletics Competition - results

King’s competed in the English Schools Athletics Track and Field Cup at a very damp Warrington on Monday May 16th. King’s entered four teams and performed in good spirits with some excellent individual performances. The Junior Boys' and Girls' teams made up of Removes and Shells came 6th place in the girls' competition and 5th place in the boys' competition. Notable performances were Natasha Tudor (Shells) gaining 32 pts in the 800m and Shot and both Sam Wild (Shells) and Harry Strudwick (Shells) gaining 27 points in the 400m and Shot.

Even without a complete team King’s Inter Girls' team competed very well taking 10th place overall.  Susan Gorman (fourths) achieved the most points in an individual event gaining 12 for the shot put.  Katie Pownall (Thirds)gained 16 points in the 100m and Shot, D’arcy Tuite (Thirds) 20 points in the 800m and long jump, and Gabi Tuite (Thirds) 18 points in the hurdles and discus.  The Inter Boys' team took 7th place overall, Cameron Hogg (fourths) gained 34 points in 400m and triple jump and Ralph Elsegood (fourths) gained 29 points competing in the 400m and shot.
